Post Race Celebration
This past Saturday as Sage Canaday was shattering the course record at the Speedgoat 50k in Snowbird, UT we had our own hot race taking shape in Greencastle at the Putnam County Mental Health Run. Team Jameson Coffee was in full force with 4 year old Ava Williamson making her race debut in the 2-mile trail walk and 6 year old Ian Williamson back for his 2nd attempt at the 4-mile trail run.
The day started off fueled by eggs, bacon & SpeedgoatKarl’s 100 Mile Blend. As you can see from the picture, Ava had yet to have her coffee. However, once fueled Ava took the top spot in her age group as the youngest participant and posting a Fastest Known Time (FKT) traversing the DePauw Nature Park in the 2-mile walk for a 4-year old at this event in 70 minutes flat. Likewise, Ian took the top spot in his age group with a time of 48:20 in his 2nd appearance at this event. Bettering himself from last years performance and eagerly looking for the next race.
The dynamic duo could nearly be considered semi-pro after sharing their winnings of McDonalds coupons. Sunday’s after Church meal cost us only $4.80 after cashing in the winning coupons. Congratulations Ava & Ian!
